Tue, January 17, 2006 - 11:51 AMConquest. Hollywood Sports Park (affiliate of SCVillage). Warped Sportz Paintball Park. Fields of Fury. Paintball USA.
All within 30 minutes of Los Angeles.
We play at Conquest every week. We meaning my team. I play once or twice a month.
All those have 'scenario' type fields as well as speedball. -

Tue, January 17, 2006 - 12:23 PMI've also been to Hollywood. Haven't heard of Conquest. Someone also mentioned Tombstone.
Do you guys play scenario or speedball? It seems like most people fall into one camp or the other. -

Re: paintball in los angeles
Tue, January 17, 2006 - 12:47 PMTombstone is no longer open. They recently closed down. Rumor has it that SCVillage will do the same. LAND LEASE ISSUES!!!
We play both scenario and speedball. They are different kinds of games and its nice to do both. Speedball is a lot more fun for me - but I definately don't mind going out and doing woods ball over at Conquest.
They have three good 'scenario' fields.
The Tournament is small with spools, bunkers, bamboo islands, etc. Its fast and furious. It's about 75 yards long.
The Vietnam field is definately woodsy. Lots of great places to hide but always a place for a good firefight. Pump players can get through the field and really get good sights on players for sniping.
The River is quick and fast. It's woodsball mixed in with an open area for speedballin. You can pick your strategy... Go deep into the woods and try to back door the other team, or go to the open and FORCE your way to control that field. Either way if one of your sides go down you're in for trouble.
Then they have a decent speedball layout with air bunkers.
Usually its un-refed so you can run games on your own if you want. If ref is there, then he puts teams up against each other and you play-play-play!
The turnover of games on both scenario and speedball is fast. You play back to back on the scenario fields with a 15 minute 1st game and 10 minute 2nd game. Back to back is great!
Then you take a break to refill, get loaded up and back out in 10 minutes! -

Re: paintball in los angeles
Wed, January 18, 2006 - 12:55 PMIt's going into the shop today.
One reason our team could play as much as we do is that we got a great deal to order Anarchy Paintball as our paint. A great ball that is normally 60 bucks a box!!!
We get it for 40 and can distribute to local stores if we want to in order to make some money back for boxes we don't use. -
