My budget is about $600. And my friends and I all live in the country. We played Speedball..It was fun.. But we all agreed we would like to play how we live.. Which is hills and trees....And possibly sceneiros like rural, urban. or whatever... Other than running at each other at high speed with the same friggin barriers every time..... Gets old....... So bascially we are all buying gear to play on each others properties in the woods........

Sofar, the best scenario marker (IMO) is the Tippman A5 with a Flatline barrel on it. It's not the fastest, the sexiest, or the smallest, but it is more accurate than anything I've seen yet.

A guy I knew (he died this year) owned three fields (Two in NorCal and one in Oregon) told me that when he went out against his son and his son's Angel, he always won. :)

'Cockers and Angels need a lot more maintainence as well.

Wow right on! There's a store in town that has the A5. I haven't picked it up and looked at it yet though. I will go check it out. Actually I looked at it from the other side of the counter and did notice it was only a one finger trigger unlike alot of what I've seen other players using on the field. The long trigger used for fanning and ripping out more shots per second. I'll check it out for sure. What marker do you have Historyteller?

"What marker do you have Historyteller?"

Right now I have 3 or 4 Spyder/Sheridan clones and a RAM marker. I work for Jungletoy.com, so I'm doing mostly airsoft at the moment. :)

Wonder if I knew the guy. Which fields in Nor Cal? I haven't been out in a year playing. Been working too much **sigh**

His name was Mike Sinatra, and he owned Paintball Jungle, Sherwood Forest, and Paintball Island.

Very sad, he was a cool guy (as long as you didn't jerk him around). :)

Oh my god. Is it the tall skinny guy who always wore yellow and had a green beret style of attitude--actually wore a yellow beret a lot? The one who gave out the instructions at Paint Ball Jungle in the mornings? I think that was Mike.

He said I made one of his fantasies come true when he shot me. :-P I'm sure it was a line he used with the ladies. I think the tight fatigue pants I wear in the Jungle brought it on. He was a big flirt. Was it him? Bummer regardless. They are all very cool people at Paintball Jungle.

Sounds like him. He moved to Oregon just over 4 years ago though. :)

I think it was him, but last time I saw him was last year. Maybe a different Mike? I will have to ask friends who have been playing there this year.

Was one of the fields he owned in Ukiah. That's where I live. And it shut down before I ever got to check it out!

Last night my bro's and I played a night game...We all just couldn't wait. Coz we all got setups.. And just wanted to test it all out.. But it kinda suks playin at night.. We had to line up a bunch of ATV's and are trucks....for light... I heard you can get glow in the dark paintballs..... I have not put any energy into finding them though........ It was a blast anyhow...... I ran and got a spyder imagine...it's all electronic and switches between semi and full.... It's good I reckon for a first marker... If I get more into it in the future I can get more styleized.. But fur now it's good.....

                          deja vo?

yea, its a good gun for someone starting out, but if you enjoy woodsball and if you liek taking people out with some distance between ya, get a autococker, and a nice barrel kit, i recoment freak, its made by smart parts, and you can get a good autococker from worr games, they make them with and without electro, im more a can of the mechanical ones (no electro) but if you want some help or wana chat send me a message

'Cockers have the drawback of being finicky little wenches (not every one, but almost all of 'em), that's one of the advantages of the A5. Tippmans usually have to be beaten to death with a club to get them to stop working ... or opened up by someone who doesn't know how they work. lol

If range and accuracy were the only factors, I'd agree with you. Price and maintianence are the downside to 'cockers and Angels.

I actually did get pretty excited at a local store the other day learning about the A-5. The barrel you can get with the curve seemed awesome for acurracy.. It just seems like you can shoot faster with the Spiders double trigger and electronic trigger.. But the line of fire is kinda broad. I can see my balls just going all over the place......

ok ok ok, the flatline barrel, is NOT as great as it seemes, for that price, get a freak kit by smart parts, HANDS DOWN better, it shoots a little farther, and iasent too accurate. the flatline is the curved one. also if you tilt the gun to the side, it gets so fucked up because of the barrel. NOT worth buying!

A couple hundred more. Save. And a good starter marker would be a base impulse. Don't even worry about getting the eye right away. Right out of the box this marker is awesome. It's tournament worthy and durable enough for rec and scenario. Just last year Team Dynasty moved from Impulses to Shockers... Check out www.paintballwholesalers.com or www.smartparts.com. Comes with nice Freak back and decent barrel.

                                www.smartparts.com/Products/Impulse.aspx

Upgrade as you play and soon you'll have a serious marker in your hands.

Sheesh, speed ballers! 3bps is all you need. ;)

<- Note: This guy *likes* Stock Class AND plays Airsoft.

BTW, I wouldn't put a Flatline on anything BUT an Tippman A5. They look even dumber on a 'cocker. lol
